Template:Hierarchy header The Instrument Backplane Tester (IB Tester), also known as the Continuity Checker, is a GPIB card with the same footprint as all plug-in MCE cards and can be used to measure impedances of the cryostat interface and identify shorts and opens in the cryostat and/or the MCE. The test setup relies on running a Labview script.

python solution

Eric S. from GSFC has rewritten the code in pyton:

"The excel channel MUX spreadsheet is exported to .txt. This uses a Prologix GPIB/USB interface rather than National Instruments. The Prologix communicates as a serial device over pyserial. National instruments will work in python, too, but as far as I can tell only through installing pyvisa, which takes more setup than pyserial. Feel free to use and extend!"
