PC Motherboards
Our motherboard compatibility issues seem to have been solved. The problem was traced to a problem with the MAS driver, which was not handling the PCI bus properly. Since this correction, no machines have been found on which the MAS driver will not run.
We are also now able to support 64-bit multi-core machines.
Known to be pretty good (and not produced any more):
- Intel 915G [ http://www.intel.com/support/chipsets/sb/cs-011594.htm ] (UBC:mce-act-a2)
- Intel 865G [ http://www.intel.com/design/chipsets/865g/documentation.htm ] (ACT:serpens)
- VIA PT800/VT8237 [ http://www.via.com.tw/en/products/chipsets/p4-series/pt800/ ] (ACT:sofia)
- nVIDIA nForce2 MCP (AMD processors) [
- Intel 5000p [ http://www.intel.com/products/chipsets/5000p/index.htm ] (scuba2)
Initially thought to be troublesome, but probably ok with Ubuntu 7.04 or later:
- Intel G965 [ http://www.intel.com/products/chipsets/g965/index.htm ] - not compatible with Ubuntu 6.06. Spurious high rate interrupts on shared line, persists when USB and UHCI are unloaded (only ata remains on the interrupt).
