This page describes the proceedure for installing the latest version of Quartus II and the version of ModelSim AE that is available along with it.
Check Quartus II Requirements

Download Quartus II
- Using your favorite FTP client, access ftp.altera.com (username=anonymous, password=bburger@physics.ubc.ca)
- Under the 'Commands' menu, select 'Change Folder', and type 'outgoing/release' into the dialog box.
- Download the latest version of Quartus II (including its library files) to the following directory: http://www.phas.ubc.ca/~scuba2/sc2mce/library/sw_lib
Install Quartus II and ModelSim AE
- Double click on 'XX_quartus_windows.exe' and follow the extraction and installation instructions.
- Double click on 'XX_modelsim_ae_windows.exe' and follow the extraction and installation instructions.
- Browse to 'Start->Control Panel->System Properties'. Select the 'Advanced' tab. Click on the 'Environment Variables' button. Add the following 'User Variables'.
